Gosh, I was so shocked. It's my first year doing a show at Edinburgh, so it's just an absolute joy to be up here doing the show, but anything on top of that was just amazing. I was walking down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh and I squealed when I got the call. It was so exciting. I've been listening to a lot of comedians talking about how hard it is to come up with a one liner, but that one seems so obvious and yeah, who would have thought to write it but you? Yeah, I think the ones that do really well in this competition tend to be like Christmas cracker style jokes that exist in just in the context of when you read them. And my show is a character comedy show, so it's full of loads of really ridiculous silly characters who can get, I can get away with saying all sorts of ridiculous puns because they can exist in their world. Yeah, I'm so pleased that people like the stupid joke.


So Your Show is All About Puns, Is It?


How does your comedy compare with other comedians? Because there are a lot of controversial comedians out there too. Yeah, mine's a character comedy show, so I play loads of different characters. I think I played 12 different characters, everything from a cowboy to a brownie girl guide to a netball teacher to a film noir character who's the one that you saw. And I do a lot of puns in it, but I do lots of other sort of jokes as well. Yeah, my stuff is really optimistic and escapist. I really like cartoons, so it's that kind of fun, weird and nonsensical stuff that I like.


The comedian's victory in the Edinburgh Fringe's one-liner competition highlights the appeal of lighthearted and contextual humor. With a unique blend of character comedy and puns, the comedian's show stands out amidst a diverse comedy landscape.
