MAN UTD 4-1 REAL BETIS | BRUNO SILENCES CRITICS, Ten Hag's United Bounce Back AGAIN: Fighting Spirit

Yes, we needed that result there every but all the rivals are like all this is gonna be the beginning of a capitulation. No, it is not. Sorry guys, you're gonna be left disappointed. This is not another full storm. This is a we've got problems in this team. It wasn't the perfect game. It was the first 45 minutes.

Well, let's be honest, we were lackadaisical. We looked a bit tired. We looked a little bit shook from losing 7-0 at the weekend. But the second half performance, 10-1 making the changes with Wambasaka coming on. He was brilliant when he came on and the goals flowed Bruno Fernandez. Can't hear you. That went score to go.

I'll speak about that in a bit, but just this man, man. Just that response. I've said we spoke about it before the game. Man United have responded after the game against Brentford. We won our following four after the 6-3 against City. I think we won 7 out of 9 after the 3-1 against Villa. We won 9 on the spin after that game there at the weekend.

We were fearing the worst but hoping for the best. We basically got both. First half, wonderful start from us. Wonderful goal from Rashford. Didn't build on it. We looked leggy, but the second half, it flicked. Man United in the second half are a problem.

Barcelona, City, Real Betis. We've done it so many times this season. It's becoming a habit. But I've got to speak about this at the start because he, my word, it looked like he couldn't hit a barn door in the majority of that game. We won that 4-1. Realistically, that could have and probably should have been 6-1. Maybe even 7-1.

But Vecors scoring towards the end. You've got to hand it to him. I think he started 15 games, something around that since he's joined on loan. We've had no striker. Yeah, he's finishing his wayward. His finishing is not anywhere near good enough. You can't question his work rate, but he got the goal at the end there.

And what's that? He burst into tears there. He won't ever forget that moment. And we needed that. And I'm going to have a spotlight here on Bruno Fernandez. Someone who I've had to defend from criticism this week. Everybody deserved criticism after that game against Liverpool, including Bruno Fernandez. What you can't do is call into question every single facet of his game and every single, oh, he can't captain United again.

He can't do this. He can't do that. And make grand, huge statements. You look like a dick. Bruno Fernandez there with a goal and an assist. Lo and behold, if you play Bruno in his number 10 position, he can really impact the game. He very much has been playing a position, the positions, left wing, right wing, wherever Ten Hargers asked him to play, he has played.

He's done a better job in the right wing than he did on the left wing against Liverpool and for us to be honest. And now that was a shameful performance. Every single player who started that game had that shame because you're wearing the armband. You're held to a higher standard. I understand that I hold that same logic. Tonight Bruno was the center quite literally, but Bruno was at the center of everything good that we did in that second half. Bruno Fernandez was the good Bruno Fernandez.

And it really annoys me when people make such grand, huge, I suppose that the reaction after losing 7-0-2 was always going to be grand and huge. But the statements about Bruno I thought were genuinely a bit, well, the criticism was way over harsh. Well done to Bruno tonight. I'm not saying that that 7-0 is buried because it's not. It won't ever get forgotten about. We put a little bit of dust on it. We pushed it into the past now.

And we can go into the Southampton game off the back of a win. Marcus Rashford, that goal in that first half, by the way, what a finish that was from him. Put his foot through it. No finesse in fee for that one. Rifle it into the top of the net. That was just an incredible finish. No goalkeeper in the world is stopping that.

And the thing that worried me, I'll be honest, is how United played after that goal. You would think the early goal from United would see United just flourish and go forward. But instead, we seemed a bit disconnected. In my opinion, we looked a bit tired. And it should be no surprise if we are a bit tired. Ten-half might not want to be using that as an excuse, but if it's sort of staring you in the face. And it's a bit obvious.

But in the second half, again, like we have done so many times this season, we turned the screw and Betters could not cope with it. And Anthony came up with the goal that sort of changed the flow of the game. Anthony, there's going to be people that are frustrated with parts of his performance tonight. Should he have squared it? Absolutely. He should have squared it at 3-1. Could he have scored more? He probably could have scored more and probably should have scored more. But did he score an important goal? Yes, he did.

The second Europa League game in a row after scoring the winner against Barcelona. I know that there are frustrations with Anthony and it's something that he has to develop in his game for sure. But in his first season, what's that now? Arsenal are home, City away, Barcelona are home, Betters are home. Everton? I don't know who else he scored against, but he's got a few more goals. I'm happy with his goal return for sure in his first season. Overall, this game, look, I think he'll be happy with his performance. Ten-Hagel will be happy.

I'll tell you what, can we just go back to it? Oh man, that's now buried, right? That's seven-nil. I've just said it wasn't buried. So let's not go back on yourself. The wounds are still there. And if we played like a wounded team in that first half, I'll be completely honest. You were wondering whether this team has properly shook after that one, rather more so than other ones. But we weren't.

We kept going and going and going. It was 4-1, it could have been 7-1. He should have scored more than one. For sure. Rashford, he was great. Bruno, well, wasn't great, but he got that great goal. Bruno, he turned up.

There needed to be a response from so many players tonight and I think there was. And as I said, it always feels like, not in a horrible way, but it feels like you're celebrating a competition winner there. Like, please, please, but do it, do it, do it. Like the first half when it was, he was offside. He knew it was offside, right? They didn't know it was offside. He definitely should have been scoring that. But wonderful from him.

And I have to take a minute right here to speak about this, lad. Because Fakunda Prelishtri came on there and Bruno Fernandez absolutely rifled a corner across to him. 14 seconds after he came on, he was like, what was going on here? Takes the touch, you think, oh well, never mind. Never mind indeed. Wonderful from Fakunda Prelishtri. Rounded his defender, went to the byline, skipped past him, into Matomine. Matomine's rebound and it led to that man's goal.

But Fakunda Prelishtri on more than one occasion this season has come off the bench and been a very dynamic sub. I'll tell you, we've got strength in depth in those positions, on the wings. There's so much more we need up front. We need more in midfield. There's more we probably need in defence, full back positions. Wambersaka, I don't have a picture of Wambersaka here, but I have to praise him for his second half performance. I thought he was fantastic.

Wambersaka did help change that game. We just seem to be occupying better positions with Wambersaka on the pitch. I never did imagine I was going to be saying that this season. The second half of this season turnaround from Wambersaka has been spectacular. He is our first choice right back right now because DeLau has played himself out of the game. By the way, quick mention to this, how in the world is that not handball? If his arm isn't there, the ball would go in a different direction. It certainly wouldn't go back in that direction.

It might go drop towards DeLau's foot. It touched his chest first and it rolled down his arm. It's handball. I'm glad we can laugh about it because it didn't affect the result of the game. While I'm not one to dwell on negativity, I have to mention this because it's happened so many times this season. In my opinion, it will be ignorant of me not to mention this. I do not think that David DeHayer has the capability of being the goalkeeper that Eric Tenharg requires.

If you take sentiment out of it, Eric Tenharg can. We've all been fans of United for how long? It doesn't matter your whole life. We've all seen DeHayer since 2011 and all the saves he's made. Tenharg's only seen DeHayer this season. He's got one year of memories of DeHayer and I think he's seen enough in my opinion to tell him I don't think he's ever going to have that confidence that we need. So many just mad passes from DeHayer tonight and it's not an e-joke reaction. It's happened like four or five, six times this season.

We've seen it. You know I'm telling the truth. Whether you want to admit it or not, it's probably based on sentiment because of how good DeHayer has been. But what got you here won't get you there. That for me applies to David DeHayer and the future of this United team that Tenharg is building. I'm just glad that we can now speak about building again. We can speak about looking upwards again.

Because that was a horrible few days. That really was a horrible few days. It's good that they buried it. I'm so happy for Becquels that he got that goal. Maybe he can now start banging him in for a between now and then the season. Go man, get five goals. Let's go.

So happy for Bruno Fernandez to put in that performance after the criticism that he's received. Does it make up for what happened at Anfield? No it doesn't. Nothing will make up for that until we go and spank Liverpool 7-0. But does it put an end to the immediate end to the conference? Oh is this a capitulation from United? No it's not. We bounce back every time. United in the second half are old Trafford. Man this is a habit we're building.

We are so much better than the second half are old Trafford. Good city response. 4-1 could have been 6. Probably should have been 6. Game's in our control now. Head into Seville next week. I'm not going into Seville.

Anyway, 4-1. Yes please.
