Ken Bruce final sign off from BBC Radio 2
Ken Bruce final sign off from BBC Radio 2
So I've come to my last link, as we say on radio. A lot of people would say, all right, down a big speech and deliver. And that's not the sort of thing I do. I do really just want to say thank you to everybody who has contributed in any, any small way to this program, particularly the listeners. You know, I really couldn't do it without listeners who contribute and complete the dialogue. We talk to each other on a daily basis. And I hope maybe sometime in the future we may be able to continue doing that.
Thank you particularly to the members of the Ken Bruce Appreciation Society, Preservation Society, I beg your pardon, who sent in a lovely bottle of a certain Irish cream liqueur, which I did think about drinking after song nine of the show today, but I thought I'd better just wait until now. That's very, very kind of you. And thanks to all who've sent any kind of message of congratulations or good riddance. I would just like to say thank you particularly to Phil McGarby and Janine Myersmith. They are two, only two in the production team, one of fabulous pair they have been. And to the BBC, I've been here for a long time and apart from the occasional vagary, it is still the finest broadcasting organisation in the world. I thought about the song to finish and one that comes to an end, I thought might be the end.
