EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS | Huddersfield Town 0-0 Bristol City
The Ornnax had a very few rescue missions in his time as coach. He said this is probably the most difficult of the world, aren't they? Others were un-cried themselves. 7 points in safety in the bottom of the championship with just 12 games to go. Crystal City's 9 match on beat to run came to an end with the 2-0 defeat to Cardiff. Kallas and Williams both injured in that game, so they miss out on this one tonight. The Silver King and Wells all start here with Neil Waddock. He's made 4 changes for Oswecklik starting in goal.
Jackson, Diara and Ruffles also come in. Neil Waddock's not pulling any punches. Chances of survival for Huntersfields. It will take something monumental to get them away from the bottom and to save their status in the championship. Trying to break away here, but it's Bristol City who can carry the ball over halfway and tann up. Looking for an option on the right. Plenty of space to deliver the cross and it's into the area.
And perhaps should have been swept into the back of the net. Lovely delivery into Sam Bell who picked up a really good position. Bestie Kadoo was sent that one wide when there was a glorious opportunity to break the deadlock. Huntersfields sitting pretty deep in the early stages of this one. George Tanner breaking away down the right. St Penton the ball in the early stages here. Now Nakia Wells making himself known in there.
No chance to break away. Poked into the area by King. Sight looking for space. Can't fight too much, but he has won a corner. Jayda Silva will be the one to take this. Lifts into Waterfront post. He's got it back here and another chance for Bristol City to send one in.
The ball towards the back of the area was good and Mark Sykes has another good chance here for Bristol City. Thomas Vatik with a reaction stop to keep City away. Still level at 0-0. More pressure here for the Huntersfield defence. Plenty of it in the early stages of this matchup as Alex Scott sends one in. And the effort looks good and what a brilliant chance at the far post. Randy King, luckily for him.
He's in an offside position. Wouldn't have mattered too much in any case. Initial chance though. Cameron Pring. That may well have been onside. Wonderful delivery from Alex Scott. One of the most exciting talents in the championship.
Still though Bristol City can't find a way through. Despite the number of good chances. 2-0. All spending plenty of time in the air. The other end, City with some work to do. They haven't had much of that so far. Diara bursting into the area.
Big appeal for a penalty as well. No interest from the officials and Jada Silva quickly makes his way away from the trouble zone. Jada Silva. Diara looking to latch on to the pass. Maybe did have a case. No interest though from the referee. No.
I've got the ball. Scrap to get to the port. After it. Sending it backwards. The Wulnick said that if Huntersfield wanted to extend the division, they'll need to ruffle a few feathers. Trying to do that here. Breaking up into the area.
Big Charles Dragwides. Josh Caroma in a brilliant position. And these are the kind of chances that Huntersfield need to take if they are planning to stick around in the championship. Lovely breakaway. Diaro so persistent. Fitted wide. And all of a sudden opened up here.
Josh Caroma. He didn't bring his shoes in boots. He's put that one worldwide in the end. Not too much to cheer about so far. The Huntersfield fans who are here tonight. Imagine that they would have identified this one here. The coaching staff and the team has won to try and get three points from.
There aren't too many chances left as Diaro tries to battle his way. Through the middle, but he runs into Matty James. He's done well. Found Jada Silva, who is able to carry out for Walter left. Letty in field. And that's a glorious chance. It's very nearly a no-go.
Hog with the deflected effort, which is well pushed away by Vaclic. Who is back there to spare the defenders' blushes. For the first time tonight, Vaclic calling to action. Another reaction save. City's call-up. Sent in searching for Pring. Doesn't quite make it towards Cameron Pring.
And now another chance for Huntersfield to break away. Plenty committed forward for City. Nicely worked into a good position. The chance fired goalwards from an unlikely source. The effort that comes in straight into the arms of Max O'Leary. And 600th professional game in charge. His team certainly had their openings in the first half.
Haven't done too much in the seconds. It's Huntersfield looking to break away again. And Matty Wackhorn turned in the opposite direction. They may have been in for a chance. Diaro can't find his way through. And he's won a corner. No fans doing their best here to get behind the team.
Corner comes in towards the edge of the six-yard box. Might just drop here for a chance. But it did. There's never really any danger, though, for Max O'Leary. Jack Madoni sending one way over the top of the bar. The time being called. The Neil Waller rescue mission has yet to gather momentum.
The time has to be now. Lifted to the back of the area. This may well be their opening. Well, it is a fabulous opportunity to score and a wonderful recovery by the Bristol City defence. Who get back here to deny the acrobatics of Helik of all people. Did superbly well to direct it, goal-wards. With this wonderful anticipation by the City defence.
And then the environment is back there to make the clearance away. That would have been some moment for Anisfield. Some goal. There's the confirmation that the ball doesn't cross the goal line. And we're still at 0-0. Karoma. He's his way through the traffic, shifts the ball wide.
Helik is forward here again, looking to turn provider this time. Madoni. He had thought it was a bit too close to the feet of Max O'Leary. He's still going here, looking to provide. And then Huddersfield have a corner. The fire has certainly arrived. They are fired up.
Has it all come a bit too late here for Neil Warnock's side? Well, neither side able to find the breakthrough goal that they were searching for. Bristol City certainly had the better of the Chelsea's in the first half. Number of top saves from Thomas Van Kleyck to keep them away. Later on in the game, Huddersfield throwing plenty of this one, but unable to find a way through. It was a night when certainly he felt he could have grabbed all three points and maybe got there. Charged a stay in the league. He kept that alive.
Thank you.
